They are heavy to lug around but if you are only going a short distance the luxury you have all day far outweighs how heavy they are. They are beautifully constructed chairs and while the bottom is not mesh, it does dry very quickly. We use these at Sebago Lake where we stay for over 6 hours at a time, they have 3 adjustments. Just so you know there is no completely upright position, the 1st setting is in the recline position.Very sturdy construction, my daughter-in-law who weighs almost 400 lbs did not even strain this chair. They are very suitable to large persons and tall persons as well. You're basically hauling a recliner to sit in all day. The chairs areextremely comfortable and very easy to set up.To me, they are worth hauling to the lake, or beach, especially if I am there for an extended period of time, I want to be comfortable.These chairs would be AWESOME for camping because they are perfect for STAR GAZING because they recline so much. There are 3 reclining positions.Honestly, I almost returned these when they 1st arrived and I am so glad that I didn't. The reason was they seemed so heavy and cumbersome. The best decision I made was keeping these chairs, they are wonderful for sitting in the yard as well and even though there is no upright position, you can position yourself to sit up straight when you need to.If comfort is your goal, and you do not mind working for it, buy these chairs, you will not be disappointed.
